Well, it has been a long journey getting to where I am today but I wouldn’t have it any other way! For all that has occurred in my life, it has led me to this exact moment and for that I am truly grateful!
Unlike most natural medicine practitioners, I didn’t grow up thinking I wanted to be a herbalist, naturopath or energy healer. In fact, I wanted to be a hairdresser since the age of 2, always obsessively platting anything that could be platted! So, at the age of 18, I started a hairdressing apprenticeship, worked incredibly hard both here in Australia and in the UK, dedicating myself to the art of colour for 11 years. Little did I know though that this was just the beginning of my path in discovering my true identity and purpose.
Looking back, it wasn’t just about the hair that I loved! It was the connections and soul to soul conversations I had with my clients that gave me the most joy. I have always been a high-functioning intuitive empath, so listening to what my clients were experiencing in their life, especially their health issues (penny drop moment!) and struggles with work, life, family balance, I almost felt like a therapist. Seeing my clients walk out the salon door, not only transformed on the outside but positively glowing from within, was the best feeling in the world!
Fast forward 10 years, 2010, life completely changed! I became a mum to a beautiful little girl, my then partner began working in the mines and I also suffered very serious health issues – all in the first year of motherhood. During this time, I became more drawn to herbal medicine as my body has always resonated with herbs and I felt that they would support me in a holistic way that I was so desperately needing at the time. And so, 2 years later, my darling girl was now 2, we had moved to a little town, Agnes Water, so my girl’s dad could work in Gladstone rather than in WA, my health had improved and I decided to enrol at ACNT and began studying Western Herbal Medicine. But of course, this is only half of my true purpose!
The other half of my purpose here on Earth is to help people find their purpose, discover their true identity especially if they have lived life not knowing where they belong; I lived most of my life feeling homesick and not knowing why. I also love helping to identify any emotional, spiritual wounds and blockages that may exist within that are essentially preventing people from living the life they want to live. By breaking the cycle of pain and suffering, we can create a different reality, create a more fulfilling, balanced life for ourselves and our loved ones.
Combining the modalities of herbal and natural medicine, hands on energy healing, energetic medicine such as flower essences, with added spiritual gifts empathy and intuition, I can provide a unique holistic service that is catered for the individual needs of my clients.
So, you see, it is never too late to chase your dreams and find your purpose, no matter what age you are!
